Due to the early dismissal for weather, there are NO JH/HS activities today. There will be NO JH basketball game today, but has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb 28th qt 4:15 in Grundy Center.

This morning was the monthly meeting for the GR FFA. Thank you to Mercy One of Reinbeck for providing breakfast for the members today!
Monday night the 17th is the next Friends of GR FFA meeting. ALL are welcome to join! The meeting is at 5:30 in the Ag room.
G-R will be dismissing at 1:30 PM today due to the forecasted snow and wind that could lead to poor road conditions.

Our goal has been met and exceeded!! This is amazing! This is a new record for GR when doing the Kids Heart Challenge!
Friday March 7th at the elementary will be a closing assembly to the Heart Challenge. The assembly will involve a lot of silly string, pies to the face for staff members, and Mr. Grooms being turned into an ice cream sundae!

For the 100th day of school, the TK class made a number 100 puzzle with 100 dots.

Big thank you to Jenny Hulme from the Tama County Extention office, who came 3 different times this trimester (to meet with all kids) to do a financial simulation with the 7th graders. I think many lessons were taught during this time 💙

As I’ve been working to share information about our upcoming PPEL election, a few things have become very clear to me:
1️⃣ Our Rebel Community is passionate. No matter where people stand on an issue, they care deeply about our schools and our future.
2️⃣ Information can sometimes be misrepresented or interpreted differently. My goal is to provide clear, accurate details so everyone can make informed decisions.
3️⃣ No matter our differences, we are one community. We are the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels, and everyone who lives in our district is a part of this community.
I know there’s been a lot of information to take in, and it can feel overwhelming. To help, I will be sending out a district-wide email with the full message, linking it below, and sharing key points in this post. I’ll continue posting updates, addressing questions, and making corrections if needed to ensure transparency.
At the end of the day, my hope is simple: that our entire community takes pride in being a Rebel. And at the very least, that we all take pride in our schools and the students who make us who we are.

Very proud of our Large Group Speech team! They performed their best at the State Speech Contest this past Saturday at Decorah. Nattalee, Vanessa, and Akeelah went straight 1s in ensemble acting, Vanessa, Nattalee, Shelby, Jayla, Leila, Cameron. Elliott, and Corbin went straight 1s in musical theater, Carly, Brenden, Lydia, Jayla, and Hudson received an overall 2 rating in ensemble acting, Corbin and Nathan received an overall 2 in improv, and Brinn, Olivia, Mailea, Amelie, Kael, Drew, and Kennedy received an overall 1 rating in short film. Now onto Individual Events!
