Thank you GR FFA for inviting us to your awesome petting zoo! The TK class enjoyed seeing and petting all of the animals.

The TK students were very excited to each receive the book Cowboy Small today! We had read this book as part of our cowboy unit and loved it. Thank you to everyone who donated. These kids LOVE receiving their free book each month!

In TK we read the book Cactus Hotel. We learned about the Saguaro cactus and the many animals that live in and around the cactus. The kids each made their own cactus hotel, and we used their hotels for addition problems.

📢 Voted PPEL Election – What You Need to Know! 📢
The March 4th PPEL Election will determine funding for critical school facility improvements without impacting classroom operations.
What is the Voted PPEL?
✔️ Proposal: Increase from $0.67 to $1.34 per $1,000 of assessed value
✔️ Purpose: Repairs, safety upgrades, buses, technology, and equipment
✔️ Flexibility: Funded through property tax and/or income surtax (can be adjusted annually)
Why It Matters
🏫 Facility Repairs – Roofs, boilers, drainage, concrete
🔐 Safety & Security – Security upgrades, door access, lighting
💻 Technology & Equipment – Classroom tools, bus replacements
🛝 Furniture & Playgrounds – Updated learning and recreation spaces
Tax Impact (Estimated Monthly Costs)
🏡 $150,000 home = $3.70 | 🚜 350-acre farm = $26-$34
Key Consideration: Consolidation Increases Taxes
📌 G-R's tax rate ($10.58) is lower than neighboring districts ($14.47 - $16.68).
📌 If G-R were to Consolidate, taxes would likely increase. If G-R were to Dissolve, taxes would increase.
🗳 Election Day: March 4, 2025 | Polls Open: 7 AM - 8 PM
📥 Absentee Ballots Due: 8 PM on Election Day

7th graders are learning about gravitational potential energy in science. We got to go to the lower gym and explore the rebound of different objects and calculate the amount of potential energy each has.

Lunch Guest for Star of the Week.

The TK class went to Parkview in RB to spend some time with the residents today. I was so proud of these kids because right away they introduced themselves to the residents and then asked the residents their names. They did an awesome job on the activity, and the residents seemed to enjoy watching and interacting with them.

TK Star of the Week!

Laundry! Thanks to Jenny Hulme, Tama Co. Extension, who came and helped 7th graders learn how to do laundry. To practice, the students will be doing laundry at home. They will use their shirt folders, which they made earlier this year with Mr. Fisher in Industrial Tech.
