The TK class finished making their Love Monsters today! It took a lot of time and perseverance to do all of the sewing, but they did it. I think they turned out great!!
Clearing Up the Confusion: Understanding School Funding
I’ve seen some questions and concerns circulating about school funding, particularly around PPEL, voted PPEL, and the income surtax. I truly believe that those sharing this information are doing so with good intentions, but school finance can be complex, and sometimes key details get lost in the mix.
To ensure our community has accurate information, I want to share a message from our financial advisor that breaks down these funding sources and how they impact our district. My goal is to provide clarity, not to discredit anyone—because when we all have the right information, we can make informed decisions together.

We are planning on having the postseason girls basketball game tonight as scheduled. The game will begin at 7 PM.
You will be able to get your tickets scanned or use a card reader at 6 PM and can enter the gym at that time.

Due to the continued extremely low temperatures, Gladbrook-Reinbeck CSD will be closed today. We will run the day as a virtual learning day. If you have any questions, please contact your teachers.
This decision was not an easy one as I know other area schools will be sticking with their 2 hour delay. The factors that I looked at were our temps when most of our students would have the most exposure. With our routes in the southern part of our district having students get on the bus around 9:00, the windchills would still be around -36 and do not go above -25 until around 11:00 am. In Reinbeck, we also have numerous students that walk to school and I know this number goes up when we have a delay as well. Using today as a virtual day allows us to keep students safe and keep the hours in our calendar so time is not going to need to be made up.
