Rebel Athletics: Last week our G-R Rebels started plyometric training in the mornings on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:15am. These "Plyos" are meant to train athletes to jump higher, run faster and be explosive. Last week we had 21 JH-HS kids attend to build on their overall athleticism. They had a great work ethic and came with a great attitude as the training is not easy. They were coached by Head Boys Track coach, Coach Luhring and Strength & Conditioning coach, Coach Schuman. Rebel Nation, As the semifinal football game on Wednesday approaches, here are some things to keep in mind: 1. Ticket Info - Tickets will be $12.50 which includes a parking fee - Tickets can be purchased at a ticket booth when arriving at the UNI-Dome - It is suggested to buy tickets online ahead of time to avoid waiting in line to purchase - Tickets online can be purchased at the link: https://unitix.evenue.net/list/ISHAA - Once at the website, in the top right corner, it says "enter promo code" and you can enter ONESEMI. Tickets will go on sale at noon on Monday, November 11th. 2. Streaming options - KDAO will be streaming the game (audio only) on 92.9 FM or online like: https://kdao.com/gladbrook-reinbeck-rebels/ - IHSSN will have a video livestream of all semifinal games. There is a cost to purchase. *Purchase one semifinal game to watch is $9.99+ tax *Purchase all semifinal games to watch is $18.99+ tax *Link for the IHSSN is: https://www.ihssn.com/ 3. General reminders upon entering the UNI-Dome - We will be sitting on the west side of the UNI-Dome - No seating allowed in the first row - No artificial noise makers - No signs or banners are to be used in the crowd - Shirt and shoes are required. Body paint is not considered a shirt. - No masks or helmets are to be worn in the crowd *Finally, see below information regarding the implementation of a clear bag policy enforced by UNI: UNI has implemented a clear bag policy for all athletic events at the UNI-Dome and McLeod Center. Clear bags made of plastic, vinyl or PVC that do not exceed a 12 x 6 x 12 inch size will be permitted, as well as one-gallon, resealable, clear plastic storage bags. Small bags that are not clear but do not exceed a size 4.5 x 6.5 inches will also be allowed. Prohibited bags include: purses, backpacks, printed pattern plastic bags, tinted plastic bags, duffle bags, fanny packs, reusable grocery totes, mesh or straw bags, large totes and cases (for camera, binoculars, etc.). An exception may be made for some prohibited items for medical necessity after proper inspection at the gate. That is a lot of information, but thank you and go Rebels!!!

Today, the TK class started learning about and getting ready for Veterans Day.

This week we learned about Turkeys in Ag in the Classroom in third grade. It was neat to look at the model eggs.

🎉 Exciting News! Early Dismissal for State Football Playoff Game 🎉 Next week, our team will play in the State Football Playoffs at the UNI Dome at 1:00 PM! To support our Rebels, school will dismiss at 11:00 AM on game day. The morning of Wednesday, November 13th, will include a pep assembly at 8:30 AM and a spirited team send-off through the elementary school parking lot to follow. Students will be able to get a sack lunch before they leave if they would like. Ticket info coming soon—stay tuned! Let’s rally behind our team and show our Rebel pride! 💙

This morning was the monthly meeting of the GR FFA chapter. Thank you to Jon and Cody Bystricky for providing breakfast for the kids. It is a great way to start a Friday by serving the kids breakfast. They are always thankful for this before a meal. It is also so neat to see the room busting at the seams with FFA members! Friends of the GR FFA will meet again Monday the 11th at 5:30 in the Ag room. Come be a part of this group to help support FFA. Rebel Nation, A heads up for tomorrow's postseason football game at Don Bosco regarding tickets. They can be purchased online or you can use a debit/credit card at the gate, but that card reader will be available on the home side only. The visitor side admission gate will accept online purchased tickets only. It would be a good idea to purchase your tickets online prior to arriving at the field. Thanks and go Rebels!

District voters reject the bond referendum question on the November 5, 2024 ballot. Following the vote, the #unofficial election results are: 1235 YES (50.5%) and 1209 NO (49.5%). Although we are disappointed by the outcome of the referendum, we want to express our gratitude to our community for their participation and input. Despite the results, we remain committed to finding acceptable long-term solutions for our facilities that benefit our students, staff, and community residents.
