This weekend 9 of the JH girls track athletes travelled to Waukee to compete in the JH state meet. The girls competed in long jump, shot put, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 800 meter run, 100 meter hurdles, 200 meter hurdles, 4x100, and Distance Medley. A special congratulations to Kailey Larsen for placing 2nd and earning a medal in the 100 meter hurdles! The girls competed well against schools from all across the state.

Congrats to Logan Giesking for being the first NICL Super-meet conference champion in GR history with a jump of 6-1. 1600 medley of Austin, Will, Hudson, and Caleb finished 5th place as well.

A reminder that a week from today, May 12th, is when the elementary field day will take place. Grades K-2 will go from 9:30AM to approximately 11:30AM. Grades 3-6 will go from 12:30PM to approximately 2:30PM.
It is a mini track meet as there will be both running and field events that students will be participating in.
Students should have athletic shoes to wear for field day as they will be running and jumping.
We will have plenty of help as there will be high school students volunteering with field day. Parents that are attending are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to sit on to support and cheer on the elementary students.

G-R Athletes continue to work to get better and choose to get started 4 days a week at 6:02 AM! A total of 80 athletes use the weight room each week!. Thanks to Mr Fisher and his students in school as they renovate the weight room to make more room for our kids. #rebelnation
