FINE ARTS FOOTBALL CONCESSION STAND ~ Volunteers Needed for Playoff Game

I want to thank all of the GReat volunteers in the concession stand last Friday night for our victory over Springville.
HELP NEEDED
This Friday, October 30th, our varsity football team will be facing Montezuma in round 2 of 8-man football playoffs.
We need your help to provide the GR and Montezuma fans GReat service at the concession stand.
You don't have to work a window or handle money if you don't want to. WE HAVE JOBS FOR EVERYONE, from wrapping hot dogs to serving nachos to popping popcorn. We would love your help.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS - This qualifies as volunteer hours for your Silver Cord.
We are asking that you limit the number of students signed up to volunteer at 4.
Student Guidelines for Varsity Games First, the adult to student ratio is 2 to 1. Since we need 12 volunteers, this breaks down to 8 adults and 4 students. If we have more adults, we can have more students. And second, all students 6th grade and below need to have an adult (parent, etc) volunteering, too.
We will again be accepting credit card payments. Only adults and high school students will be allowed to check people out at the window.

Over the last few weeks our employability skills class had the chance to complete a mock interview.
Our students prepared for mock interviews by reviewing interview skills and creating resumes before putting their skills to the test. Afterwards, students received feedback on their "glows" and "grows" to help them build confidence and prepare for the real thing one day. 💙🤍👔

GR football playoff apparel is available for pick up in the HS office! You can stop in today between 8 AM and 3:15 PM. If you have a kid in school, we will send your apparel home with them.
We will make sure any items that need to get to the elementary will be brought over there and sent home with kids.
If you stop in at the HS, please let personnel know that you are there to pick up football apparel and let them know your name. We will help locate your items.

The third-grade students have been working hard during literacy time! We have been learning how to read nonfiction texts, with a focus on animal classification. Students are practicing identifying the main idea and supporting details, as well as using context clues to figure out the meanings of unfamiliar words. Throughout this unit, we have also explored the different groups of animals.
This week, Ms. Nissen visited our classroom to teach us about reptiles. The students were excited to learn about her pet snake! She shared pictures, interesting facts, and even one of her snakes’ sheds with us. We are so thankful to Ms. Nissen for taking time out of her day to share her knowledge and extend our learning!
