‼️ JH Volleyball ‼️

Update‼️
The JV football stream should be good to go now!
Go Rebels!
Rebel Nation,
We apologize for technical issues during our JV football game. We are trying to work through them and will do our best to get them corrected.
Thank you and go Rebels!
GR Families,
With the continued extreme heat and humidity, we have been closely monitoring conditions inside both of our school buildings.
Today, several elementary classrooms reached temperatures in the low-to-mid 80s with humidity levels ranging from the mid-70s to more than 80%. These conditions continued to increase throughout the day, and the forecast calls for similar or warmer conditions again tomorrow.
Because our buildings have limited cooling in a number of instructional spaces, GR Schools will dismiss at 1:20 PM tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1st and Wednesday, September 2nd.
Our decision is based not only on the outdoor temperature, but also on actual indoor temperature and humidity readings, ventilation, and how conditions are trending throughout the school day.
We know schedule changes create challenges for families, and we do not make these decisions lightly. Our priority is maintaining a safe and productive environment for students and staff.
We will continue monitoring building conditions and the forecast throughout the week and will communicate any additional schedule changes as early as possible.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.

Superintendent

Ran @ Marshalltown 2nite. Every high school runner improved their time from last year and we had three freshman run their first career 5K. That means every athlete ran a PR, this may be the first time I've coached a team that accomplished this. GR8 race by GRXC!!

I wanted to share a quick reminder and update regarding our elementary schedule.
Input Conferences scheduled for today have been canceled. We will share more information soon about how we will make up those opportunities.
In place of our originally scheduled conferences, we have scheduled an Elementary Open House for tomorrow, Friday, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. This will give students and families a chance to see classrooms, meet teachers, bring in supplies, and get comfortable in the building before our first day of school.
The additional time this week has been incredibly valuable, and our staff, contractors, crews, and volunteers continue working hard to get everything ready.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility. We are excited to welcome everyone into the building tomorrow night!

📢 Attention JH volleyball players! 📢

Secondary Open House Reminder
We want to remind you that our Secondary Open House will take place this Thursday from 5:00–6:30 p.m. as scheduled.
While there have been some delays in the completion of the elementary project, these delays will not affect the Secondary Open House schedule. We look forward to welcoming students and families into the building, meeting teachers, and preparing for a great school year.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you Thursday evening!

GR Families & Community,
I want to share an important update regarding the next few days at Gladbrook-Reinbeck Elementary.
Updated Elementary Schedule
Wednesday, August 26: Input Conferences canceled
Thursday, August 27: Input Conferences canceled
Friday, August 28 | 4:00–6:00 PM: Elementary Open House
Input Conferences: Additional information about make-up opportunities will be shared within the next couple of days.
As we have worked through the final stages of our construction and move-in process, a few items have taken longer than anticipated and have pushed us further behind the timeline we had hoped to maintain. We have a tremendous number of people, including contractors, crews, staff, volunteers, and others, working incredibly hard right now to keep moving us closer to the finish line.
After looking at where things stand today, I have made the difficult decision to make these adjustments to our schedule.
We know how valuable Input Conferences are for our students, families, and teachers, and we are not eliminating them. We will share additional information within the next couple of days about how and when those opportunities will be made up.
Our Elementary Open House on Friday from 4:00–6:00 PM will provide students and families an opportunity to come into the building, see classrooms, meet teachers, bring in supplies, and get comfortable in their new spaces before we begin the school year.
This was not an easy decision. We know families have made plans around Input Conferences, and changing those plans at this point is not something I take lightly. At the same time, I felt it was much better to make this adjustment now and give our teachers, staff, contractors, and crews the time they need rather than continuing to push against a timeline that could create additional challenges later in the week.
There is an incredible amount happening inside our elementary school right now. Every hour, more classrooms are coming together, furniture is being assembled and moved into place, boxes are being unpacked, technology is being installed, final construction items are being completed, and our staff is doing everything possible to prepare for students.
We are close. And while these last few days may look a little different than we planned, our goal has not changed: to give our students and staff the best possible start in a building our communities will be incredibly proud of.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued support as we work through these final days. We cannot wait to open the doors Friday and welcome our Rebel families into the newly renovated Gladbrook-Reinbeck Elementary!
Thank you for continuing to BUILD FORWARD with us.
