The GR volleyball team has been working hard with two a days this week. We took a break Thursday for team bonding with a ropes course. Then Friday morning”s theme was Anything but Knee Pads!
Next week the JV/V will have an intrasquad scrimmage on Wednesday Aug. 20th in the HS gym at 6 PM!

2025 Junior High FB--> Practice starts Monday, August 25th on the 1st day of school. Coach Olson will meet with JH FB players during the school day to go over the days schedule as it is an early out as practice will still be held at the typical time 3:30-5:15/30. At practice Coach Thede will go over all other details. #rebelnation
2025 Junior High VB--> Practice starts Wednesday, August 27th. *Practices are typically after school starting at 3:30 until about 5:15/30. No sign-up required as you can just attend on the 27th & Coach Welter & Coach Meyer will have details for all JH girls at the first practice. #rebelnation

Wednesday August 13, will be picture day for HS fall athletics. It will also be picture day for senior banners that go up in the gym.
An email has been sent to the seniors and they ALL need to be there for the pictures that day at the request of the picture company. Another reminder will be sent to seniors next week.
Picture forms will be given to HS volleyball, cross country, cheer, and football participants next Monday for them to bring home and get filled out.

Girls tennis is now in the fall starting this fall. Any girls from GR interested in tennis will be playing with Grundy Center.

Yesterday was the last day for the GR summer food program. It was a GReat success. The kitchen crew served our communities a total of 12,075 breakfasts, 12,075 lunches and 862 gallons of milk over a 9-week period!

Today marks the first day of Family Week.
The Iowa High School Athletic Association, Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, Iowa High School Music Association, and Iowa High School Speech Association Non-Contact Period for the summer of 2025 starts today July 27th through Sunday, August 3rd.
During this time frame , there will be NO activities of which include camps, clinics, workouts, strength and conditioning, lessons, meetings, etc.
Activities can resume on Monday, August 4th. Thank you and have a GReat week!

Mallory Wrage represented Union Community in the IGCA Senior All-Star softball games today in Waukee.
Mallory's team won their first game, 4-3. They lost their second game, 6-5 in which Mallory went 2-2 at the plate with a walk and a run scored.
