GR volleyball has advanced to the second round of postseason play. We will host Waterloo Christian on Wednesday, October 23rd at 7PM. The TK class had a fabulous time at the pumpkin farm on Friday and would like to thank the GR PTO for funding their trip!
Today was an exciting day in third grade. We were able to go to the Gladbrook Theater and watch the movie The Wild Robot. We just finished reading the book in class last week. It was so neat to be able to have this experience all together. We enjoyed some popcorn and a caffeine-free drink as we watched the movie. The kids were full of conversations after as to how the movie and the book were different. Thank you to the PTO for paying for our admission and treats. Thank you to the Gladbrook Theater for opening up on a Monday morning for a special showing just for GR third grade!

The week ahead for Rebel Nation
Really proud of the work and effort given by the JH kids today and this season! Caleb P. with an 11th place finish and tied his PR. Dayton H. with another PR & 27th place finish. Mason H. & Levi C. both finish with another PR on the season. Colbie R. with a strong race as well!!

Yesterday the 7th-12th graders had an SEL and Service Learning Day! Students started the day by hearing from Al Kerns, a longtime educator turned motivational speaker, about character and integrity. Then they got to participate in various activities led by the teachers. Everyone enjoyed a grill out lunch and time spent outside in the beautiful weather! After lunch we heard from members of the Lions Club about why community service is important and some of the service projects going on in the area. In the afternoon, students participated in service projects in Gladbrook, Reinbeck, and Morrison, doing everything from raking leaves to painting parking lots! It was a full day of fun, learning, and work!
