Day 2 of 5 senses detectives in Kindergarten! 🕵🏽 In Mrs. Eckhoff’s room we used our touch sense and gussed what we felt inside our mystery boxes. We also got to see and make our name in braille. In Mrs. Smith’s room we got to use our sense of taste, and try things that were sweet, sour, salty and bitter. They ended singing a fun, five senses sing-along. And then the whole crew went on a scavenger hunt for our final sense, sight!

Just a reminder that tonight is Parents' Night during halftime of the varsity football game. The order will be as follows:

1. Football
2. Football cheer
3. Band
4. Cross country

We will have 9-11 grade in one activity line up behind the home bench and will call their name to step forward and wave to the crowd. When 9-11 grade is done, we will have the seniors of that activity walk when their name is called and will stop behind the home bench area.

When one activity is done, we will move to the next activity. There will be an announcement over the PA system at the game with a few minutes left until halftime for senior parents of those activities listed above to get lined up alphabetically and in order of the activities listed above.

We hope to see a GReat crowd tonight to support all of these students! Thank you and go Rebels!

🏐 What a night for our 7th-grade volleyball team! 🏐 The girls went undefeated, winning all 6 matches against Union! They showed off strong serves, great teamwork, and impressive perseverance through some tough set points. Way to go, Rebels! 💙🤍

Today Kindergarteners became 5 Senses Detectives! 🕵🏽 🕵️‍♂️ We mixed up the classes and put our senses to the test! Today was day 1 of 2! 👃 👂 In Mrs. Smith’s class they had to use their sense of smell to see if the cotton ball smelled or not! They finished by drawing some good and not so good smells! In Mrs. Eckhoff’s class they used the sense of hearing to listen to different sounds and marked them off a checklist! We also watched Ray Charles perform on Seseame Street! We previously learned he was blind but overcame the challenge and still became a famous musician and song writer! 🎶 Tomorrow we have more senses to put to work! 👀 👅 ✋

The 8th grade volleyball girls went 3-2 tonight against Union. The girls fought hard and showed great perseverance, battling back from a few deficits to earn the win!

Rebel Nation, 1A postseason volleyball officially starts on October 20th. GR will have a first round bye and will play on October 22nd. We will play the winner of North Linn/Meskwaki Settlement. That match will start at 7 PM on October 22nd and tickets will be $8. Cash is NOT accepted. GR activity passes are NOT accepted. Fans can use a card reader when they arrive or can purchase tickets online through Bound. A link for tickets will be provided when we get closer to October 22nd. We’re in 1A Region 7. 8th graders are investigating waves. Today we used slinkys to see how waves transfer energy.

7th graders are learning about the solar system. Today we made a pocket scale model of the solar system! Each one is unique because they are the height of us!
