Gladbrook-Reinbeck CSD will be Closed Wednesday, March 5th, 2025. With an early out already scheduled for State Basketball and the impending weather that we are likely to receive tonight and into tomorrow morning, we have made the decision to cancel school and have a Virtual Learning Day.
Based on the latest projection from the National Weather Service, the impact of this storm could last through the afternoon tomorrow with the possibility of still getting snow at 3:00 PM. The range of snow totals is anywhere from 1 to 4 inches depending on when the precipitation switches over from rain to snow throughout the night. The biggest issue that we will face is the wind. We are supposed to have wind gusts up to 60 mph (highest non-thunderstorm winds projected since December 15, 2021). The wind will lead to low visibility with potential white outs while the snow is falling.
If you are planning to travel to Des Moines for the game, please use caution and be safe. From what I am gathering, once the snow stops, the blizzard warning will likely be lifted and winds are projected to start to taper off around 3:00 when they will start to drop to below 50 mph wind gusts.
With school being canceled tomorrow, there will be no practices or youth activities.
Looking forward to next week we will not have school on the 12th due to the Boys playing at 10:30 AM at Wells Fargo Event Center.
